I am a foreign language teacher living near Lille, France.

I am very interested in languages and linguistics, particularly language change, the relationship between French and English, and etymology.

I’m also interested in stories and identity:

The intersection of narrative, technology, and foreign language learning.  How can current digital narrative and text gaming technologies be used in language in the classroom? How can teachers best use technology to help language learners develop their skills while telling stories?

Foreign language learning and identity, particularly immigrant learners.  How does learning the language influence identity?  How immigrant learners navigate learning and using different registers of the target language?

I am also involved in various nonprofit organizations.
